GOLD – HOW WE FIND IT and WHAT WE DO, ONCE IT’S FOUND

Please take the time to read this whole document.  It contains information such as secret phrases and explains what we do and WHY we do it.  IF you do not read carefully, you will only risk embarrassment - when you "aren't with the program.”

GOLD – HOW WE FIND IT and WHAT WE DO, ONCE IT’S FOUND

Admin On Duty (AOD) and a group of volunteers check every single guild at the top of each hour.  We try to cover a 24-hour shift, since Garden of Time (GoT) is played in every time zone on the planet.  Usually we will have finished our guild check by 5 minutes after a tourney has started.  (Sometimes faster!)  If you do not see a post on the group feed about a gold tournament by then, it usually means there is not a gold rush for that hour.  We may miss checking the guilds at the top of the hour due to issues in Playdom, but we will try to give you at least 15 minute warning so you can get to the guild and get your 30 points to win the gold prize.

At 10 min before every hour, our group members meet in our group chat box and guild reporters are assigned for each guild.  The reporters will then give report for that guild in the GF chat box.  If you have not been assigned as a guild reporter for that particular hour, then correct protocol is to remain silent and observe the guild checking procedure and await the results.  Then the assigned guild reporters post their guild report using the SAME FORMAT:  "guild name/guild name - no gold” OR “GOLD GUILD NAME/GUILD NAME,"   Notice: Gold tourneys are always announced in all caps.  This so the Admin On Duty (AOD) easily sees it during tabulation.  Once the results are finished then the AOD will post on the main group feed where the gold is for that hour.  There will usually be a vote on which guild we are jumping to, but this is not necessarily the case especially in a back-to-back (b2b) gold rush.  The guild that we are jumping to will be posted on the group feed. If there is NO gold that hour, there will still be a post to assure you that all guilds were definitely checked that hour.  We have many members that check these feeds on their cell phones every hour, so we try to keep the posts clear and concise.

If there is no admin on duty, at the top of the hour, whichever group members are online must work together as a team to figure out if any guilds have a gold tourney.  You should post your guild reports in the chat box, NOT on the page feed, because many of our members get email and text alerts.  Once those members present tabulate that there is no gold OR if there IS gold THEN only one person online should post those results on the group page.  BEFORE you post where there IS or IS NOT gold, please check the group wall. If someone has posted there is no need for you too. All comments regarding that same hour should be commented under that FIRST post, otherwise we get too many posts on the same topic. Avoid Redundancy!

Only AOD’s  (or other appointed stand-ins) are permitted to post gold tourney info on our group feed.  This is to maintain order and the same format in the posts so we do not get regular members telling the group to jump to different places.  Our Golden Friend group members are NOT allowed to post gold tourneys in the guild FB pages and certainly NEVER in the forums!  We, as members of this group are NOT ALLOWED to post general gold tourney in our home guilds either.

Let us explain why it is mandatory that everyone follow the above rule - so no one is upset!  Some guild members might look at us "jumpers" as if we are traitors or that we care more about gold than winning with our guild.  IF gold tourney info were readily available and announced in every guild regularly, why would anyone want to be a member of our group??!?!  Posting gold tourney info in the guilds and forums HURTS our recruiting more jumpers into our group and compromises the power we have to sway the outcome of a gold tourney as a group.  When you post gold tourney in the forums and in the guild rooms you only hurt yourself and our group!  On rare occasions, we will appoint someone to go into the guilds to post for help in a very close gold tourney, mostly to help an underdog team.  Those appointed to do this have been trained on what the BEST way is to do it.

Sometimes our members are SO eager to play the game they might forget to log into our group here on FB first!  If you are in a guild and know we have just discovered a gold tourney, it IS possible that our other group members will NOT know it is going on!  We have two "secret phrases" for announcing UNDER THE RADAR about gold tourneys:  "There's a tea party at my place!!!  Hurry everyone come over!"  (ALTERNATIVELY, ANY phrase using the code words, TEA PARTY).  The other secret phrase is addressing a particular member by their Playdom ID in that particular guild and telling them they are "wanted or needed in the library a.s.a.p.!"   This should automatically alert that person to immediately visit our group page for gold tourney info!  Always remember you CAN visit any person's personal profile on the guild and type them a message that will show up on their personal guild feed.   Nobody else in the guild will see what you typed on their profile, BUT if that person does not know you typed it on their profile, then they usually reply with a comment typed on the regular guild feed, then your identity is revealed and the secret is no longer secret!!!  Tread wisely please!

IF any regular guild member asks about the ‘library’, what it means, or where the library is, either ignore the question or post a bogus address for some bogus library.  (That usually quells all other questions too!  LOL!)

IF it is a very close game, we try to put one of our people in each guild to see if the guilds ask for our help.  We also monitor all forum posts and Guild FB pages to determine if other guilds will jump to either team and have a huge affect on the scores.  We prefer to jump to a guild that welcomes us.  If one team is already showing a huge lead, whoever posts it will recommend which guild for you to go to.   Discussion as to which guild to jump to will be done in the chat box.  We do not post asking for help for gold tourneys in the different guilds UNLESS there is a super close battle and we do not have enough people from our group to actually win the gold.  Whoever is appointed to go to each guild should ask in question form IF anyone could possibly help another guild winning gold.  We never want to take them away from their own guild IF they are already in a close battle.  Check the scores in those guilds BEFORE you ask them to jump ship from their home guild.  If it is a close race, most will opt to stay with their guild anyhow.  It is a loyalty issue at that point!

You will be "stuck" in whatever guild you jump to for a total of 2 hours, but we never want to comment in the guild that we're visiting that we're "stuck" there, because we never want to offend anyone in any guilds.  After the gold match is over, you can monitor the discussion and chatter in the guild and take note of the ID names that remark positively about our members and the help we provided them.  You can give these names to any admin person in our group and we can follow up and attempt to recruit them into our inner circle here.  This will make our group larger and stronger and even MORE fun!  Inviting people to join the group should be done only if you know that they are jumper friendly or jump themselves.  Talk to ___________________, __________________, and  _________________  , admin that specializes in recruiting for our group.  There IS a right way and a “BETTER” way to invite players.  Your next lesson will be on recruiting techniques.
